Well, 2016 has stuck to the odd-even year roller coaster with revenue dropping 80% to it’s lowest level in 13 years. Already 2017 is on pace to be the highest grossing year in my history with several contracts signed. The downturn in 2016 allowed God to show me that He NEVER abandons you and the value of faith. After all, success on earth is irrelevent on Judgement Day.
My many friends, including some from as far back as JHS, have been amazingly supportive, even through some years where I made a few horribly bad decisions, marrying the wrong women, acting foolishly on base instincts, poor investments, and other poor choices. As they say, wisdom comes from making mistakes and I have made a bunch of them. So when people tell me I am “wise”, I take it with a sigh.
New contracts for 2017 make this a year to look forward to. Much like 2013 & 2015, income is soaring and new opportunities are appearing. When God closes one door, he opens another (look at my daughter, Tiffany for proof of that saying). I am far better off for the Lord’s redirection. This big security firm contract is a godsend! 20 months of nurturing the relationship and becoming a friend of the client’s IT manager is paying off in more ways than one. It is looking like it will be a very long, lucrative relationship.
So I encourage you, no matter how bad life looks, be positive, awake each morning saying “Good morning Lord!” instead of “Oh Lord, it’s morning.” He will open doors. Remember Job, who lost everything (except his shallow, henpecking wife), said “Though the Lord slay me, I will trust Him.” Job 13:15. Be faithful and He will take care of you. He will never forsake you!
